Hi there! I am Georgian Ghelase, a Data Scientist with a passion for scientific computing, applied mathematics and visualisation. More than 3 years ago, I delved into the world of data through books and documentaries, discovering its vast potential. One significant moment was completing The Art of Statistics: Learning from Data by David Spiegelhalter, where I learned about how data and statistics in the late 1990s were pivotal in uncovering Dr. Harold Shipman, revealing patterns that might have been missed. Further insights were gained from the documentary The Joy of Data by Dr. Hannah Fry, which showcased Dr. John Snow’s - 1854 investigation into the Cholera Outbreak in Soho—an example of resolving a public health crisis through data analysis. I have dedicated over 1,000 hours to mastering data science, engaging in a mix of theoretical study and hands-on projects. My involvement includes competing in hackathons, building professional networks, attending weekly webinars, and exploring major conferences such as Big Data London at Olympia and Tech Show London at Excel. My commitment to data has been consistently strong throughout this journey.
